Growth mindset development tools are included in all programs and are critical building blocks to improved performance. Athletes should expect to spend 5 minutes each day and 15 minutes per week on their logs plus 1 hour per activity. Younger athletes may require a parent's support to complete online activities depending on their reading fluency and spelling/typing skills.
Each athlete completes and online log daily to record thier choices throughout the day; from drinking enough water to giving thier best effort in school, this helps them take accountability for the things they are responsible for.
Each week athletes will reflect on their challenges and successes and how thier choices contributed to each. The purpose is to connect the dots between the choices they make and the outcomes that result to reinforce accountability.
Online lessons and activities introduce concepts to help student-athletes identify how they can achieve their goals through focus, prioritization and other organizational tools that can be used on and off the court/track/field.
Each program includes a benchmark assessment and quarterly re-assessments to show athletes how performance. Even if they haven't noticed their incremental improvements, there is no denying the numbers!
At Growth Mindset Sports, our process for building grit is what makes our program unique. Our goal is not just to get better at sports, it is to help them develop a mindset that will allow them to get better at anything they choose to focus on. While each child follows a slightly different path that may require more repetitions or time, the process steps are consistent.
