Faster, Higher, Stronger (FHS)

This program gives athletes in any sport an advantage by understanding how to leverage their strength through biomechanics to run faster, jump higher and have more power.



The Challenge

When young athletes learn a new skill or sport, they naturally focus on the motion and learn to replicate it well but what they can't see from an example is how to control the power, force or speed of the move to get the same result.  This can leave young athletes frustrated by their performance and fixed mindset thoughts that they are "not athletic" start to creep in.

Skills Assessment

We start by assessing each players' current speed and power to establish a baseline and identify the specific improvement plan for each player.  Every 3 months we repeat the assessment so players will have undeniable proof of their improvement to support the development of a growth mindset.

Running

Running is a foundational skill for most sports, and athletes are asked to run often, yet they are very rarely taught how to run. And while most young athletes can learn how to move their hands and legs by example, what they can't see is what happens when their foot strikes the ground; this is our focus.  We teach young athletes the importance of body position, strike speed, strike force and flight time so they understand how to control their speed and engage their explosiveness.

Jumping

Learning to jump (and land) is critical to sports like basketball and volleyball, but improving an athletes vertical also improves their agility and explosiveness in sports like football and lacrosse. We teach athletes how to engage their muscles and use momentum to improve their vertical and broad jump.

Strength

Increasing muscle strength supports running, jumping and overall power in sports, but also provides an opportunity to reinforce biomechanics.  We use primarily body weight and callisthenic movements to improve muscle strength and ultimately overall sports performance. 

Repeat

Learning the basics of the skills will ignite players' interest and experiencing success will drive them to practice more and rapidly improve their skills.  This allows us to introduce new and more advanced skills to continue their progress.
